Super low tide made conditions tough but we have flats that like the low water as Blake from Conneticut found out. He was able to land this beautiful 9 lb bonefish with Capt. Duffield. They hooked another that managed to find the sharp edge of the reef. {%image_id=13990%} On Saturday, i had the pleasure to fish with Randy Brunelli from Nevada. We decided to go in the afternoon when the tide would be on the rise. The action was steady but we never got the big push of bonefish that usually appear when the tide gets perfect. He had three fish track his fly and appeared hot to feed but we just didn't come tight. That's fishing and he'll get 'em next time. The bonefish around Oahu are on the large side and no dummies. We use highly innovative flies and jigs but somedays the fish win. Wind seems to make the fish more catchable so practice making short casts with wind. This will increase your chances dramatically when pursuing your 'Fish of a Lifetime'!
