The bass are in the shallows doing their thing on the beds. They are in different stages right now, you have some already rowed out and will hit anything that comes across the bed and there are still some just fanning and starting and all you do if you bring a bait across the bed is run them off and they will come right back. Nothing you place in front of the starters will do any good. Remember where you are seeing them and come back a few days later. The rains have muddied up the water just a little, if you know where you saw beds a week earlier this will help not to spook the bass as you get in close to them. The bass are active in the standing weed beds with spinner baits, floating finess worms and flukes. This time of year is awsome here on Lake Eufaula. Crappie are as active as they can be. Jigs, small spinner baits and minnows are great all day. Under the bridges at night looks like a ball stadium. The minnows are the trick at night. Limits are being caufgt in a few hours before the "skeeters" get too bad. Cats are always cooperating if you just want to go out and relax. Applications are being finished up on the Lee King Benefit Buddy Tournament for June 8. Help us find a cure for this heart breaking disease that is taking our youth.
