The summer heat is still here in Southern Alabama. The tropical storms are bringing us some much needed rain but the fronts are turning off the bass bite. What we are catching are still on the ledges in 12 to 25 feet of water. Carolina rigs are the best bet. Early morning fish are in about eight feet depths up in the creeks around the wood. Texas rigs with lizards are doing the number here. The bites don't last long. When the sun and heat get started, head for the deeper water. Crappie are off right now, what few are being taken are coming on jigs, hit a spot for five or six and move to the next honey hole. Cat fish are always going to cooperate. Take some crickets and /or worms and find a comfortable shady spot and relax. The hits are steady and this is a great way to spend quality time with your kid's or grand kid's. Remember to take plenty of water and do not forget the mosquito spray. October in National Niemann-Pick awareness month. Take a look at www.nnpdf.org. and follow your heart.
