Alabama Fishing Report for Lake Eufaula

Lake Eufaula

We are experiencing our late winter warm up days now and it is driving the fish crazy. We have a few hours of 60 or 70 degree temp and it falls out over night to the 20's and 30's. This will continue into Spring only the low's will be somewhat higher. Last two years the bass spawned twice or more when the cold fronts ran them out of the shallows. The bass are beginning to hit deep cranks when run very slow. The bottom fishing is producing some catches as well. The secret to catching lethargic bass is slow, slow fishing. Kinami Flash and the Kinami skirted grub are doing very well on the Carolina rigs. Cat and crappie fishing are producing some good catches. Late afternoon and evening crappie fishermen are limiting out fast and getting out of the cold. Jigs amd minnows are best for the "slabs" and nightcrawlers are best for the catfish. We will have the application on the net in the next few weeks for the Lee King Benefit Buddy Tournament for the National-Nieman Pick Disease Foundation. Mark it down for June 14, 2003 at Lake Point here in Eufaula Alabama. Plan for a fun family weekend. 'Till next report, God Bless & Good Fishn' Capt. Sam Williams
