Alabama Fishing Report for Lake Eufaula

Lake Eufaula

Bass Fishing continues to defy the norm. The majority of the fish being weighed in at the tournaments are coming from shallow water, 3 feet and less. The high water levels have kept the shad and other bait in the cover and so the bass are staying there also. The kinami bait is still my choice offering, the Nories Bug is so good. It works as a jig and spinner trailer as well as on a short Carolina rig worked through the grass and on down the first drop. The first real signs of cooler weather are finally upon us and we will see an increase in the crappie fishing. They are still a favorite for the table in this area. Cat fishing never seems to get bad here on the river. When you want to just un-wind and relax, you cant beat a good trip catching ole whisker face. It is the perfect trip for the younger kids as there usually is not much waiting between baiting and catching. Please check out www.leekingbenefit.org and see all the ways you can help with finding a cure for the terrible Niemann-Pick Disease. The boat is a perfect way to get involved. 'Till next time, God Bless & Good Fishn' Capt. Sam
