Lake Eufaula, Alabama Lake level 187.87 Surface Temperature ranges from 74 to 78 degrees Water clarity is clear to slightly stained in the mail river to slightly muddy in the creeks. Bass are staging in water 4 to 8 feet off the grass. The crazy chatter bait is doing an awesome job when all else fails. I have been using Kinami Nories bugs and the Mann's spinner bait trailer as well as the short Mann's Shadow to dress up the bait. The Gambler version is just as effective. 3/8 oz. is my choice in white and shad colors. There are bass on the river ledges to be taken with the Mann's 20+ and the Lizard on a Carolina rig. It has not been easy to stay on these fish with the high afternoon winds Crappie are still hitting minnows in the mornings after the sun rises. Trolling seems to be slowing down quite a bit. Blue Gill are hitting crickets along the shore line. A cane pole is really best as you can move the bait along as you troll the banks. Catfish are going crazy lately. We have had two trips in the past two weeks that produced a 250 lb. and a 175 lb catch on each two day trip. That is a lot of fish for supper but there is nothing better than a springtime fish fry to gather good friends for fellowship. Please pray for our up-coming Lee King Benefit Buddy Tournament. June 10, is coming up fast. We MUST sell boat tickets to help fund a cure for these Niemann-Pick kid's. They are suffering from a terminal disease and you have the power to make a difference by purchasing the tickets. Go to www.leekingbenefit.org for info or call me at 334 687 6266, 334 355 5057 cell.
