Hi Folks, An excellent day of fishing just off Wrightsville Beach, albeit a bit wet. Rain showers abounded, but we found enough fat alberts to enjoy the day. Now here's my report: INSHORE: reds and flounder are the primary catches right now, with a few blacks and trout mixed in. Falling tide seems to work well and fresh bait or artificials work well. NEAR SHORE: Plenty of pods of anchovies have attracted large schools of false albacore. We caught 16 on the 23rd. OFFSHORE: King macks and a few mahi are biting in the 20-30 mile areas. GULF STREAM: Lots of wahoo biting, kings, mahi and some billfish as well. CAPE FEAR RIVER: Reports of plenty of reds, flounder trout and black drum are coming in. UPCOMING: A blessed cold front is coming and with that cooler temps. Everything inshore and near shore should explode and literally jump in your boat. Well, you may need to make a little fishing effort. Until Next Time...LET'S GO FISHING!!! Capt. Rick Bennett 910-520-7661 www.rod-man.com www.custom-fishingrods.com [email protected]
