Trout fishing in the White River (Bull Shoals Lake tailwater) from the dam all the way to Buffalo River is great right now due to the current weather fronts moving through, and also due to the fact that the Corps of Engineers has been maintaining a very high flow of water out of Bull Shoals Dam. Winter temperatures always provide a better advantage to Trout fishermen due to the lack of natural food supplies such as insects and worms, and less pressure from fishermen. Right now, an angler fishing minnows, shad, or sculpins will do well on the larger Rainbows and Brown Trout, dragging them on a standard drop - shot rig, if he will maintain a steady pace with his boat, not allowing the line to move faster than the boat. Throwing Rogues in a gold or orange color as well as cd-7 or cd-9 gold/black or Rainbow color is also very productive at this time. Berkley Gulp brand Smelt is incredibly productive right now on smaller Trout.
