Right now all the streams in this area are low and may be hazardous to navigate via a gas outboard. However a canoe is an excellent option. The secret is to use stealth in approaching the better deeper pockets. When fishing a stream I am not acquainted with I stop where the low fast water starts. I walk down stream to where the pool gets deeper and fish. I use caution when approaching so not to alert the feeding fish. Normally this is where feeding fish wait for their prey . The bait to use are the ones that live in the streams and are feeding on at the time of your float.Bait.. Live bait always includes worms, minnows, and crawdads. Artificial's are varied in selection.. Gitzits and soft plastic lures will get the job done. My favorite is the GULP 5 inch black leech presented on a slider hook. Small mouth love this lure!!
