Water releases have been all over the place but heaviest in the afternoon and evening for 8-12 hours, up to 10,000 cfs. Hopper fishing is hit-or-miss but when they are on, some nice browns are being caught. Nymphing is excellent and producing the best for numbers. Zebra midges, BH Hare's Ear, scuds and sowbugs are all producing fish. Fishing near the dam with No. 16-18 beadhead pheasant tails has produced many fish. Small rubber-legged streamers have been working in the Wildcat Shoals area along with red Turk's Tarantulas for browns. Fishing Tip of the Week: Keep an eye to the sky during these hot days and never underestimate the power of a pop-up thunderstorm. A blue sky with popcorn clouds can turn blustery with torrential rain and lightning strikes in moments. Don't assume the storm is going to miss you when you're on an open lake or wading a creek. Be sure you have a clear path to safety in case the skies open.

Tight Lines,

Capt. Don Schnable
