IN GENERAL – The beach slowed down for several days and then this morning our Guide Dave Hill had good action out in front of Rancho Deluxe. Several roosters to six pounds thought the See Through Deceiver he was using was the perfect breakfast snack. All of that in an hour. Our old friend Dan Wienstien, San Francisco Judge is out this morning with our guide Lance Peterson, Chimicum, Wash, who is winding up his three week trip with us. Pretty exciting stuff he proposed over the telephone from down here and is returning to Chimicum, Wash on the 6th and is tying the knot five days later. Good Catch Lance! .. OFFSHORE: Dorado and Tuna with an occasional billfish in the afternoon pretty well sums it up. .. INSHORE: Plenty of action close to shore, dorado, tuna, skipjack, roosterfish all are putting on a pretty good show. .. BEACH: Lance Peterson, a Pacific Northwester from Chimicum, Wash., Took Gene Kira with him and they drove by car out to Punta Arena found plenty of ladyfish and spotted several grande jacks and roosters cruising up and down the seam close to shore. Most of the hotels are offering special deals and airfares have not been this low in a long time. Give Yvonne a call for more information about some of the specials being offered. BILLFISH - A few blues and stripes, but the sailfish were the most prevalent. YELLOWFIN TUNA - Smaller ones at Cabo Pulmo and La Ribera. Some big guys (100+) are showing up under the porpoise schools. DORADO – Look for anything floating!. ROOSTERFISH - Lots of smaller fish all along the shore from Spa to Rancho Deluxe JACK CREVALLE - Same story: smaller fish with a few larger guys in the mid-teens. BARRILETE OR MEXICAN SKIPJACK – Slowed down from the beach this week PARGO AND CABRILLA - Rocky points are holding a few quality pargo. IN GENERAL: Well here we go tomorrow I and three lucky clients will be on our way for the first Flyrod Marlin 101 trip. Reports have been sketchy from offshore this week and the best we can figure the water temprature is still a few degrees low. Some boats reported raising four to eight fish a day and good dorado, wahoo and tuna fishing. By our Saturday report we should have a much clearer picture of what is happening. Temperatures: 80 during the day, 70 at night. MARLIN – Mostly singles with no groups reported. DORADO - Shark buoys are the best bet. TUNA – Plenty of the smaller variety. YELLOWTAIL – Best bet at the Entrada. CORVINA – Either the bridge coming into town or try up by the power plant . SNOOK - Mario's spot, as expected produced several snook as well as a few pompano. SIERRA – Pretty quiet this week. PARGO & GROUPER -Chartreuse Clousers down deep with slow retrieve are producing some good catches of five to 10 pound fish along the rocky shore out toward the entrada.
