Tarpon Fishing Tarpon Fishing has been hot in Boca Grande Pass but with a shortage of fish this year due to a fish kill you should time your trip. The out going tides are the bset when the crabs are flushing out. I have managed Tarpon on every trip but will admit i had to work for them. The tarpon on the beach are have been taking crabs and threadfins. Look for the fish that are moving slowly and approach them quietly so you dont spook them. It's best to try and get up from the moverment and wait for the tarpon to come to you. As always it seems that most people can't find tarpon on there own so they look for a boat that is already working a pod. I can only say do what you think is right and give the same respect you want in return. Redfish are in the bushes and can be found with little effort. Snook are still out of season and a spawnning in the passes and on the beach. If you target them release them carefully i prefer to leave them alone. Trout fishing continues to get better and better every year and i had trouble finding fish small enough to keep. Good Things Come To Those With Bait Capt Andy Boyette
