Tarpon Fishing If you fish the Boca Grande Pass this year don’t forget the law has changed to only three lines in the water at a time and no gear that breaks away this includes floats or corks or anything not attached permanently to the line. Don’t look for this quick fix to solve any issues some groups still want to have this great fishery to themselves. Go Fish Charters Inc and its captains will adhere to all rules and have developed a style and artificial bait that will work better than previously. Looking forward to the start of the season. If you are planning a to fish with us we only have a few spots open in May and June is starting to fill up so get you plans made and lets go catch a Big Fish. Fishing has been as good as it gets here in our area with Snook Redfish and Trout on every trip. The white bait is plentiful and artificial baits are working strong. The mornings have been cold and the tides start out low so the afternoon trips have been more productive. Seems like the unusual cold weather is just hanging around for a few more days. Tarpon have yet to show but I have heard reports from Sanibel and the Everglades as soon as we get warm nights with some consistency they will be here. I missed out on any Kingfish this run the wind has just been brutal but I am sure they are still out there. They should be holding on hard bottom. Blue runners and Thread Fin Herring are top choices along with a chum bag and oil drip. Good Things Come To Those With Bait Capt Andy Boyette
