The Cobia run is on in the Broad River near Beaufort, SC, and the word is out. I fished a Redfish/Cobia combo charter today, and the river must have had a 100 boats, most all fishing for Cobia. We started out Redfishing, and had a great morning. We caught 23, and released all but a couple slot fish for supper. Had one nice roe trout also, but the SC DNR is asking all fisherman to release the roe trout this spring as our population was decimated by cold weather this past winter. I will comply. We also saw 2 Cobia cruising the river but were unable to get them to eat. The Spanish Mackerel are also in the river, tearing up the glass minnows. Have heard a number of reports of 2-5 pound Spanish being caught. Talked to Capt Danny Rourk today, and he has caught several nice keeper flounder the past day or two. The bite is on, and it is time to get out on the water. Capt Rick
