Broad River still producing nice Redfish

Beaufort

Fished a "fun" trip with my neighbor yesterday morning, looking for Redfish on a high falling tide. The weather was a bit tough as we had 15 knot winds blowing into our designated bank, but the fish didn't seem to mind. One positive affect of the wind was that the water wasn't gin clear as it has been, and I personally think this favors the bite. Redfish tend to get pretty spooky in gin clear water, and I have seen them go completely off the bite under such conditions. But yesterday the fish were good to us. We floated big mud minnows under popping corks along the grass edges as the water began falling out of the grass. I put the first 4 in the boat and finally got some help from Larry. We ended up catching, and releasing ten nice fish. All were bigger than the South Carolina slot maximum of 23 inches, and one fish hit the 30 inch mark. I'll take that kind of morning any day.
