"Bustin Loose- I Hope"

North Shore

Bustin' Loose-I Hope. The past week has been full of promise and frustration for C Sic Again Charters and Captain Robin Calitri. The bonito have been very scarce in the Sound. The larger bass are deep and the big blues are unpredictable. We still had some great outings. On Thursday, Don Vogel and Joel Weiss had over 50 bluefish to 6 pounds on the top off Eatons Neck. The trick was to wait for a strong outgoing tide. There is good action along the wedline on the inside of Northport Bay on clousers, in the evening Shai Martin, Tamar Martin, Richard Franklin and Susan had a ball will large schoolie blues off the Gulls in eastern Long Island. Tamar and Richard are seasoned fly fishers and took a few turns at the fish but is t was Susan and Shai who ‘rocked'. They were both rookies but soon they were using poppers like candy, teasing the big bad blues to a frenzy. We also saw a few flashes of ablie type busts off Gardiners. I think that it will all break loose next week. LongIslandFlyFishing.com will keep you informed.
