PISCES WEEKLY FISH REPORT JUNE 13TH TO 17TH PISCES WEEKLY FISH REPORT JUNE 13TH TO 17TH 2001 BILLFISH: I don’t want to say I told you so, but is sure is tempting. As we stated a couple of weeks ago, it was just going to take a little bit of warm weather, to open up the striped marlin bite, which had to happen now, if at all and that’s what is taking place. We had a fantastic ninety-seven percent catch success rate, with nearly all fish caught being striped marlin. In fact we had a total of eighty-nine stripers this week, of which eighty-four were released. Weights are good at 140 to 180 lbs. Anglers of the week were Tom Carman from Birmingham, Alabama and Les Alt from Boca Raton, Fl. They released six striped marlin aboard, “Tracy Ann” on June 15th . Charles Hughes, Judy and Bill MacDonald – all Texas anglers, fished “Rebecca” on June 19th and were thrilled to release five stripers. This same day both Andrea and Adriana had four striped marlin apiece, again for anglers from Texas. Throughout the week boats regularly caught form one to three marlin average per day, with pretty much everything being caught on live bait, between San Jose and Chileno. A lot of happy anglers this week, with nearly all of our guests visiting us from Texas. OTHER SPECIES: To be honest not a lot of action on smaller game at the moment. Just a few dorado caught throughout the week, but of an impressive size. See photos. Dick Sokolowski was pleased with his, as was Jordan Francis. No tuna for us this week. Inshore roosterfish to 30 lbs were taken, some sierra and skipjack and also some nice yellowtail to 30 lbs. LOCATION: San Jose to Chileno in the Sea of Cortez. WEATHER CONDITIONS: Bumpy seas the first couple of days, turning beautiful, clear sunny skies, flat seas. AVERAGE WATER TEMP: 73 F BEST LURES: :Live bait.
