PISCES WEEKLY FISH REPORT June 16th to June 22nd, 2006 BILLFISH: This is one of the slowest weeks so far, with 66% overall success rate, starting the week with 10ft waves on the Sea of Cortez, many people decided to stay closer and try to catch some inshore, while the adventurers decided to go a little further to improve their chances and went off to 30 miles out achieving their goal, such as C-ROD who caught 10 Yellow fin Tuna, 1 Dorado and a 200lbs Striped Marlin for Doug Mirkovich on June 17th, Ruthless released 3 Striped Marlin on Destiladeras on June 19th for Don and Danny Edwards from Westminster, CA. also on June 19th Marea released 3 Striped Marlin and boated another one for Kenneth & Judy Willis, the same day, C-ROD released 2 Striped Marlin one Dorado and caught 8 Yellow fin Tuna for Joe, Melanie, Dylan and Tess Graham from Jay, Ok. Sundancer released 3 Striped Marlin for Lisa Turner on June 20th. La Brisa released 2 Striped Marlin and one Sailfish for Matthew Adamson from Red, TX. 42% of our boats caught billfish and total of 45 were caught and 43 were released. OTHER SPECIES: Slow for small game this week, with 19% success rate on Tuna and 18% success rate on Dorado, we caught a few skipjack, jack crevalle and one wahoo, on June 17th Tracy Ann caught 13 Yellow fin and a Skipjack, on June 20th C-ROD caught a 150lbs Mako Shark. Tuna and Dorado sizes were from 20 to 30lbs. LOCATION: Sea of Cortez, Cabrillo, Chileno Bay, Destiladeras and Punta Gorda. WEATHER CONDITIONS: Sunny sky, average temperature 93F and sometimes reaching the 100F. AVERAGE WATER TEMP: 71F early on the week, 80-86F at the end.
