Cold Temps and Hot Fishing

San Juan River

Hello Everyone, Winter persists, but the bite is hot. The river flow is around 490cfs. Water visiblity is 2-3 feet. The upper areas, below the Dam no tresspass area to T-hole has been good to great. #20-22 RED Larva's have been the the fly of choice. #24-26 Dark gray or black krystal flash midge has been working. From Texas hole on down some beatis and big midges late am in to early pm, #22-24 gray foam wings, rs-2's. Heads rising to midges in the upper areas and small gray beatis from lower flats to the gravel pit. The sun is far enough north that when the season change finally happens the weather on the San Juan will be nice with Spring budding away. The spring beatis hatch should kick in near the end of the month. Latest conditions and information try my web site www.blueskyflyfishing.com Tight Lines to All, Mark
