We have really struggled in the Lowcountry of South Carolina to get in some quality fishing time. As with the rest of the country, our winter has been tough to say the least. Cold temperatures, lots of rain, and wind have not been friendly to the guide business! I did manage to get out last Friday with another local guide, Capt Chris Mattson, and try to catch a Sheepshead for an hour or two. We did put 2 in the boat, although the tide was not conducive to helping us catch them. And on Saturday the temperatures moderated a bit and I was able to get my trip in. My clients were from Wisconsin and thought the weather was great, but I froze most of the trip. We did finally get on a school of nice fish, and they put 4 pretty Redfish in the boat and released them all. We caught them on live mud minnows under a popping cork, and I was glad to see them bite in the 47 degree water. We need some pretty spring days!
