Most people know that this has been a pretty tough year for those that like to use flies and artificials for bass and bluefish. The good news is that some bonito have arrived in our area earlier than usual. They were at Watch Hill for a few days and then they moved on. We had had pretty good luck with them this past week but we had to travel a bit to get them. So far the best fish weighed in at eight pounds. The schools of baitfish are everywhere. There are acres of them up to 15 feet thick. Most of the action on top are the frigate mackerel chasing bait. Its been many years since I've seen this much bait. If they stay it could turn into a pretty good fall season for us.

Tight Lines,
