Bass bite still good in the eastern part of the sound.

We were able to get out several times this past week with mostly good results. Early morning and late afternoon and evening are the best times as long as the tide is running. The only bad day was when I went out by myself at noon on a sunny day . The tide was right but the fish weren't happy. There are still a good number of squid and butterfish around with herring and sand eels too. The fish were taken on flies and were in the six to eight lb. range.
