Long Island Sound, connecticut

This past weekend the weather cooperated, as did the fish for the Kingfisher. On Friday, the Engel group started off slow drifting for stripers around the east end of Fisher’s Island but picked up in a hurry once we hit the race. Trolling umbrellas and parachute’s brought on steady action from bluefish with several stripers mixed in. Biggest striper topped out at 37” 23 lbs. Saturday’s group enjoyed a mirror image of Friday’s group with all the bluefish they wanted with several throwback stripers and a nice keeper for the grill. Saturday night the stripers dominated the scene at the Race. Two guys on vacation decided to go out for a night striper trip and hammered the bass drifting live eels. Stripers from 32” to 43” took our offerings on every drift with doubles being the norm.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Mark Anderson
