We were able to get out a few times this week with the fishing improving as the week progressed. The bait of choice this year so far is the large version of the sand eel. Usually we get the ones that are around three inches long, but this year they are six to eight inches and the bass are chewing. Most fish were in the six to eight pound range with our best one coming in at 14 pounds. All were caught on flies. So far I have seen one squid being chased by a bass. When the run starts the fishing should get even better.
