Took the run over to Montauk on Saturday to find the wind a bit to strong to hold bottom effectively, so we trolled for stripers and blues that were working the bait over in the area around the point. We then headed over to the Gut to get out of the wind and found fish there as well. We caught bass and blues until the tide quit. The day ended up with a mixed bag of fluke, bass, bluefish, and a throwback sea bass(NY season opens July 15). The bunker are in the river and we will be targeting the large female bass that are headed our way from their respective spawning grounds in the coming weeks.
