June 2, 2003 Yet another week of wind and rain, but we managed a couple of trips--both of which paid off. We jigged up four stripers up to 38" at the Obstruction Buoy, and when we moved to the Long Island side we caught bluefish 4-5 pounds, both with bucktail and fly rod. We fished the Northport power plant on Saturday morning and had a good run of blues and striped bass. (All fish were released except for two bluefish, saved for the table.) More and more bass are showing up on the reefs, along with bluefish. Now that the temperatures are finally more what we'd expect for this time of year, the waters are warming up, and the action should improve very soon.
