Report for Long Island Sound
Norwalk Islands, connecticut
Sal Tardella
September 04, 2007
On Friday we sailed with Wayne Heyland and Bud Barton of Greenwich. They had a great time chasing 2-3 pound bluefish, on the surface off of Peck's Ledge Light, after which we moved inshore and proceeded to catch striped bass up to 30". Saturday morning's trip was with Derek Shapiro of Greenwich, a "My Bonnie" regular, and two of his colleagues and a visitor from Italy. The party caught blues on the surface and schoolie stripers as well as about two dozen porgies, keeping nine for the table. On Monday we had first-timers, Syd and Ann Weiner of Saugatuck Shores, along with two young children. No one in the family ever caught a fish on Long Island Sound before this trip, but everyone got into bass and bluefish that day. All the fish were released except for a few blues for their evening barbecue.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Sal Tardella
