Report for Long Island Sound
Norwalk Islands, connecticut
Sal Tardella
September 15, 2007
We sailed on Friday morning with Marc Pfefferle of White Plains, who was entertaining three colleagues. They had a great time afternoon, with non-stop topwater action, catching blues 4-9 pounds off of the Norwalk Islands. The foursome landed more than 40, keeping seven for the table. On Saturday we had Paul Stokes of Charlotte, NC, and three of his buddies. We had to endure high winds and quite a bit of rain, but they were all good sports throughout the trip. There was a slow, but steady, pick of schoolie bass around Westport and Southport. We saw some blues on top, but they didn't say up long enough for us to hit them. The baitfish are still plentiful, with peanut bunker and silversides being spotted from the Norwalk Islands up to Southport and beyond. We expect the surface action to keep improving as local temperatures drop.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Sal Tardella
