On Sunday morning we left the dock at 7:30am. Aboard were first-timers, fathers and sons: Tom and Alex Cope--and Andrew & William Simmons of Westport. We found some striped bass around the Norwalk Islands, with the fish measuring up to 23"; when things slowed down, we moved to the middle of the Sound in pursuit of more action. The sand eels have arrived in our waters, and we found acres of blues feeding on them; and there was non-stop action for everyone with fish coming in at 4-6 pounds. The four anglers took home a few for the dinner table and released the rest. As well as thousands of sand eels, we have bunker and anchovies throughout our area. It looks like the summer fishing season has officially begun!
