Memorial Day weekend

The weekend fishing on the reefs was very good on Sat. For Cathy and her dad aboard the Kingfisher. They landed 4-5 keepers each using spin tackle and sand eel immitations in very foggy conditions.On Sun. the fishing began to slow as the sand eel population began to dwindle from the large numbers of Stripers that have been gorging on them. We did find a good batch of fish closer to the island.Tried a few fluke drifts but conditions were not good and only a couple skates took the baits. Monday's trip was slow in the race as very few boats were hooking up. Did manage a 37" though for the dinner table.
