Don't Miss Out!!

Long Island

Emory Butts had quite a week. He took a ton of Bass and Blues with me in the Montauk Madness on Wednesday.{%image_id=6195%} (If you miss this season at Montauk, you will have missed some of the best fishing imaginable.) He even took a 32 inch Bass which was tagged. The fish went back alive and we are all playing the numbers on the tag. Mitch Bernstein and James Del Grosso were with CSICAGAIN along with Emory. Jim took many bass of around keeper size and countless blues on the fly. Mitch Bernstein was so exhausted from fighting fish all day that he just sat out and watched the action. Emory also took a 7 pound nine and one half once largemouth bass on a local lake this week. Congrats! Captain Robin Calitri reports that the North Shore was fishing great until the storms. Now we wait until things re-group. There is plenty of bait around. I found peanut bunker and bay anchovies off Eatons. There was a monumental crab hatch last week. Bass are slurping off various points in tide rips. Flies are a great way to go. Blues are steady, deep off 13 and 11B. Surface action for blues on the Conn. Side. There are blues in the various Harbors and poppers or sluggoes seem to wake them up. No Bones or Albies. Bass are on all the regular in-shore structure spots in Huntington and Cold Spring.{%image_id=6194%}
