Eastern Long Island Sound and Block Island Sound

Long Island Sound

This will be a weekend to remember for fisherman aboard the Kingfisher. Friday the 26th Curtis the man scored a 51 pound striper on a live hickory shad. Curtis was the quite one of the group but he made the biggest roar when he pulled in his lunker. Along with the 51 pounder, six more stripers were caught by the Pypko group ranging from 34” to 45”, as well as six keeper fl;uke with a 25 inch 6 ½ pound doormat in the mix. Like I said a weekend to remember. Saturday looked to be much of the same action for the group from Bernies. Twelve stripers with the biggest measuring in at 47 inches. All fish were caught on live hickory shad. Pictures of the 50 pounder will be posted on our website at http://www.geocities.com/kaiser11/kingfishercharters.html Monday the 22nd Capt. Ray Kelly came up from Long Island to film a show with the Kingfisher on how to catch big stripers on hickory shad. After two hours he had enough footage to fill up an hour show. We had non-stop action on striped bass from 34” to 43”. I was hoping the 50+ fish would have shown up but all in all it will be an exciting and informative show. Look for it to air in Feb. of 2003, the show’s name is “Adventures in Fishing with Capt. Ray Kelly”
