Thursday (July 29th) evening regular Tommy T. came out again this time to try their luck at stripers and bluefish. Started out fishing “The Race” for all the bluefish they wanted. Their diamond jigs barely reached the bottom before being hit, we also caught some on light tackle throwing poppers which was equally effective. After battling blues we went in to find Hickory Shad to liveline for Stripers. Had some trouble finding shad but were able to pick up enough to finish up the trip. The stripers were off the bite probably due to the cold front that moved in that day so we only managed one hit. Fri. the bite was back on when my brother Capt. Mark brought out his neighbor Kenny and his group to score 10 bass from 34” to 44” all on live Hickory Shad. Finished up the trip with fluke, but the slow fluke fishing only yielded 3 keepers. Sat. Mark Bailey’s group picked up 3 nice sized bass and finished up catching all the blues they wanted. Sunday, William Texidor slammed the bass scoring fish from 34” to 50”. Five of the fish were over 40” and Tasha caught the first Striper of her life and it happened to be a 48lb. 50” cow. Great job! Tasha. Monday took us offshore for tuna. Trolled black and purple cedar plugs, green machines, and hex heads for 15 small bluefin to 20 pounds. Bonus of the day was a 30 pound bull Mahi Mahi which gave us an awesome aerial show.
