Eastern Long Island Sound and Block Island Sound

Long Island Sound

Great weekend for the Kingfisher. Friday started it off with Jason Troiano's crew. Took some time to find the bait so it left about an hours worth of tide left. They made good use of that time by landing 4 nice bass from 36" to 40". The tide died and the fish scattered. Decided to finish up with fluke and worked through all the short fish and took home two nice ones to add to the striper catch. Saturday, Robert came back out for his third trip after two decent trips in the last month. He was treated to a banner day scoring 10 bass from 36" to 42". All were taken in the first two hours before the tide died and turned them off again. Sunday was much of the same for Sean McQuaid's group. Eight bass from 34" to 46", the later weighed out at 35 pounds. Looks like a big body of very nice bass have moved our way. We will see how long they stay until the next wave takes there place. Looking forward to a banner striper season this year as long as the weather cooperates.
