Eastern Long Island Sound and Block Island Sound

Long Island Sound

Weekend Report From The Kingfisher Saturdays trip with the Marchese group started out around the Watch Hill reefs trolling squids for some surface action but with the slow tide there wasn't much to be found. Took off for the race and set up with one other boat on a drop off away from the rest of the fleet fishing middle race. From the first drift through the rest of the trip we were nailing bass every drift. The group limited out on bass in about an hour and a half. The biggest fish was a 44" cow on an 8 ounce diamond jig. Finshed up the trip catching blues on light tackle. Sunday, was pretty much a mirror image for the Larkin group except the biggest fish was a nice 36" bass. All the fish had sea lice on them which means they had just arrived from their migration. Looks like June should be a great month to get out and score some nice bass in Eastern Long Island Sound.
