Estero bay fishing

Estero Bay

It's been a windy week with some low tides and muddy water, but if you put some time into it the fishing was good. The redfish bite was tougher this week than weeks previous, however we did manage to get them everyday but one. Redfish could be found along the shorelines with steep drops during low tide and under the mangroves during high. Trout were found on the flats as we drifted in 2-4 feet of water throwing DOA shrimp or popping corks. Sheepshead, snapper, bluefish, and mackerel are just a few of the other species found from time to time this week. The one or two times I was able to get offshore this week it was very good with lots of action. Gag groupers are in close so using some beefed up tackle will give you a chance at getting its picture. There's a lot of bait around which is great this time of the year and a sign of good things to come next week.
