Estero Bay Is Giving Up Some Good Reds

Estero Bay

{%image_id=35939%}{%image_id=35938%}{%image_id=35941%}Estero Bay is producing some quality redfish right now, upper slot to over slot fish are on the flats, fishing them with a pilchard under a cork is the go to method. When the tide changes and the fish push up against the trees take the cork off and just free line one right up tight to the bushes. Snook are making their way to the backcountry in anticipation of cold weather. So they are starting to show up in their winter time spots. The wind laid down a couple days last week and is back up this week so remember the tips from my report last week to ensure success. It is going to drop down to under 50 degrees this week which will definitely change the tactics and targets. SLOW DOWN when it's cold fish the bottom and target species that dont mind the cold like trout reds and sheepshead. It's a great time of year to be in the water, the snowbirds have all gone back up north for the time being and the water doesn't see alot of pressure right now, so get out there and enjoy it!
