Estero Bay Report

Estero Bay

This past week the fishing in and around Estero Bay has picked up. The bait is starting to show up of the beaches in the form of white bait and menhaden. Just make sure to throw a ¼ mess to prevent gill netters. The snook bite around the floating docks and mangroves shorelines has been really good. Free lined baits on 1/0 or 2/0 circle hooks will work best. Fish these areas on the strongest part of the tides, this will increase the bite. You also might want o chum the area pretty well to get them in the mood. As for redfish the key is patience. Really work an area of oyster bars or mangroves well before moving on. Shrimp on a ¼ oz jig head or cut bait on 1/0 circle hooks will be fine. The higher the tides the better the bite has been, keep that in mind.
