Estero Bay Report

Estero Bay

As the water temps increase the options for anglers increases as well. The shallows are holding redfish, snook, and seatrout. Your best chance for reds is on higher water around the mangroves and oyster bars. Look for them under the over hanging mangroves branches and the sandy areas around the oyster bars. Freelined whitebaits or shrimp under popping corks will work best. They have also been taking pinfish under floats. Snook have been lurking around the floating docks and freelined whitebaits are the ticket. Strong tidal flows seems to make them feed more so look for these times on your tide charts. Seatrout are starting to hang out over the grass flats near the passes and bottom bouncing shrimp tipped jig heads is the way to go. The passes are holding spanish mackerel, whiting, seatrout, and silver trout. Bottom bouncing shrimp on jigs are under popping corks will work fine. Off course most are chasing the silver kings out in deeper water using freelined threadfin herrings or crabs under floats. Head out there for a fish of a lifetime!
