Estero Bay report

Estero Bay

Fishing the shallow waters of Estero Bay has been tough, but persistent anglers can still manage a few redfish and snook. Cut ladyfish or shrimp tipped jig heads thrown around the mangrove islands and oyster bars on high tides is your best bet. Move toward the nearby grass flats the water recedes as this is where they will migrate to for food. There are also plenty of snapper feeding around blow down so downsize your hooks and tip with just enough shrimp to cover the hook as this is the best chance for some quality table fare. The neashore waters are full of sharks of all sizes and species so beef up your tackle and throw out some cut baits and hold on. Might take a while for the first one to show up, but once anglers get a good slick going they will stay around until you are ready to leave
