Estero Bay Report

Estero Bay

Those anglers looking for redfish action need to work the higher tides along the mangroves and oyster bars. Shrimp tipped jig heads or cut ladyfish on 2/0 circle hooks seem to work best. They are hunkered down way back in the mangroves to avoid the heat of the day. Cast as far back as possible to increase your chances. Work the grass flats in 3-5 feet of water for seatrout. Shrimp under popping corks will work best and anglers will also pick up ladyfish for their cut bait. Mangrove snapper seem to be everywhere along mangrove islands and any blow down. Shrimp on jig heads will work fine and eventually anglers will land a few for dinner. Moving to the passes will provide anglers with the opportunity for snapper, sand trout, ladyfish, and seatrout. Bouncing shrimp tipped jig heads along the bottom seemed to be the best set-up.
