The unpredictability of the weather has made the fishing tough this past week, but the fish are still out there if anglers are patient. Sheepshead are hanging around their winter time spots and will take 1/0 circle hooks tipped with shrimp. Mangrove islands, oyster bars, and dock piling have been holding decent fish so anglers should concentrate their efforts here. Seatrout are starting to show up in the deeper cuts near the grass flats. Bouncing shrimp tipped jig heads along the bottom will work as will shrimp under popping corks. You will also pick up ladyfish and silver trout with this method. Drifting the passes with shrimp tipped jig heads will produce snapper, silver trout, whiting, and even a few ladyfish.
