Estero Bay Report

Estero Bay

The fishing continues to be tough for anglers in and around Estero Bay, possibly due to lack of bait, super clear water, or just lock jaw. There is a quality snapper bite around the mangroves and oyster bars using shrimp tipped jig heads. Free lining small whitebaits around the floating docks will also produce some table sized mangrove snapper. Anglers can also pick up some decent snook action using those small whitebaits around the mangroves and docks on strong tides. The redfish bite is few and far between but there have been some caught around the oyster bars on higher water using shrimp tipped jig heads or pinfish under floats. The best action seems to be sharking in 12-18 feet of water off the beaches. Cut ladyfish seems to work best, but frozen threadfin herrings will also work. It might take a while to get them to show up but once they do you will have plenty of action.
