This past week the low tides made for few options for anglers in and around Estero Bay. The passes are holding plenty of pompano and they are willing to take shrimp tipped jig heads or shrimp under popping corks. Look for them skipping across the surface that is how you know they are there. Anglers will also pick up jacks, silver trout, and a few trout with this method. Drifting the deeper water bouncing shrimp tipped jig heads in the passes will produce snapper and the occasional sheepshead. Anglers fishing the grass flats in 3-5 feet of water will find find spotted seatrout. Shrimp under popping corks will work best. They will also get ladyfish in the same area which can be saved and used for cut bait.
