The fishing this past week proved pretty tough for anglers to find many keepers with the windy and cooler temps. There is however variety with sheepshead, snapper, trout, jacks, pompano, ladyfish, redfish, and even a few snook. The fish have been smaller in size, but good in numbers. Fishing shrimp tipped jig heads low in deeper water around the mangroves and oyster bars proved the best opportunity for sheepshead and snapper. Anglers will also pick up small redfish, snook, and ladyfish with this method. The grass flats on higher water have produced seatrout using shrimp under popping corks. Ladyfish and jacks are also cruising the grass and will take this offering.
