Water temps hit the low to mid 60's this week as another cold front changed fish patterns up once again. With temperatures dropping fishing was better in cuts, deep creeks, and in the late afternoon sun that warmed up the bay's shielded from the winds. Early in the week kingfish was a go to for many anglers as they pushed south following herds of thread-fin herring. Other species were active such as tripletail, groupers, and Bonita. The inshore redfish bite slowed down with only a few fish caught post front. Snook continued to be a surprise since they've been in their winter haunts for awhile now and seemed more understanding about the cool weather. Look for the snook laying up on the flats sunning themselves on dark bottom. Trout in Estero bay have been small and reports of larger ones North of us have been good. The passes continue to be a fun place for action like bluefish, pompano, and lady's as many species move back and fourth to the bay.
