Inshore fishing report Inshore fishing report Merry Christmas to all and a happy new year! Not too much has changed on the fishing scene since my last report. In between the weather fronts the fishing is quite good. The water temperatures are still in the low 60's and the trout bite remains strong, both speckled and yellowmouth. The yellowmouth prefer the cooler water. The speckled trout are hitting top water lures at times. Sometimes you have to fight through the bluefish to find the trout. Reds are beginning to school in the ICW, and can also be found in the creeks and at the jetty rocks. In the creeks look for midday low tides to warm up the flats and draw the reds in. A few have been caught recently on top water lures. The sheephead bite has picked up a bit, and some are quite large in the 6-9lb range. The occasional flounder is also available. Good fishing!
