Lake Michigan Milwaukee fish report Lake Michigan Milwaukee Fish Report By Capt. Jim Hirt June is coming in like a Lion. All species are active. If you would like to limit on Coho now is the time. The surface temp is 50 degrees and orange 6 inch flashers, with most any color fly tied one and one half to two times the length of the flasher, will work. We are also taking Coho on Fishlander ultra glow spoons in a variety of sizes and colors. The best color pattern was easter egg green or blue glow. We are producing fish from 40 to 200 feet of water. Most of our action for Coho has been on planer boards or dipsey's working top 20 feet of water. I like to mix into our presentation with about 25% spoons. There are plenty of Rainbows in the top water and the bigger ones like the spoons. Within the last week we have also caught some big Brown Trout up to 16 pounds early in the day. The 40-foot or less water on silver/blue or Fishlander Ultra glow blue tail spoons have been the best. Due to our focus on Coho we have had only a few Chinooks or lake Trout each trip. Opti-Dodgers or flasher flies will take these fish. The boat speed of 2.3 -2.7 G.P.S. works well with all the presentations I have been using. Let's go fishing!! Jim charters out of Milwaukee, WI.
