Lake Michigan Milwaukee fish Report Lake Michigan, Milwaukee Fish Report By Capt. Jim Hirt June continues to be very good fishing. All species are active. Coho are 50% of the catch. The surface temp changes daily from 61 to 46 degrees. For Coho we have had excellent action on boards, with orange flashers blue or green flies and Fishlander ultra glow spoons in a variety of sizes and colors. The best color pattern on spoons was easter egg green or blue glow. There are plenty of Rainbows in the top water and the bigger ones like the spoons. We are producing fish from 40 to 225 feet of water. There is a better concentration of fish in the top 50 feet. We have also caught fish down to 110 feet. Most of our deep fish have been on Opti-Dodgers or flasher flies. Within the last several weeks the big Chinooks have been active with fish up to 20 pounds. We have also caught some Brown Trout up to 18 pounds early in the day. We are picking up the Chinooks on leadcore five colors and dipseys set to number 1 with 80 feet of line out. Inside of 80ft of water Fishlander Ultra glow blue tail spoons have been the best. The boat speed of 2.3 -2.7 G.P.S. works well with all the presentations I have been using. Let's go fishing!!
