Fishing this past week

Estero Bay

The temps have changed somewhat and that has put the fish on a really good bite. The redfish bite was very consistent around the mangroves. Shrimp on a jig head worked slowly across the bottom seemed to work best. You can also try the shrimp on a float around the oyster bars for them as well. The trout bite has started to pick up, and shrimp on a popping cork will produce good numbers. Look for some slightly deeper water and work these areas. If you like artificial's for trout, try paddle tail grubs and Berkley gulp shrimp on jig heads. The sheepshead are also starting to move around and can be caught using the same shrimp on a jig head combo around the oyster bars and mangroves. You can still pick up some snook around the floating docks. Try using pinfish on a 2/0 or 3/0 circle hook.
